GENERAL RULES

LEAGUE GAMES: League games are a 3-game guarantee with rally scoring. The first 2 games are played to 25 pts – must win by two (no scoring cap). The 3rd game is played to 15 pts – must win by two (no scoring cap). No timeouts.

TOURNAMENT: Games are best 2 of 3. Sets 1 and 2 play to 25 (win by 2, cap of 27). The 3rd set if needed plays to 15 (win by 2, cap of 17). During the tournament, you may only play on one (1) team per league.

QUADS: A team competes with 4 players (minimum of 3). Coed Quads must have a minimum of 2 females on the court at all times. 

SIXES: A team competes with 6 players (minimum of 3). Coed Sixes must have a minimum of 3 females on the court at all times (if 4 or fewer players are present, a minimum of 2 females must be on the court). 

THE SERVE: The server must be completely in the service zone at the moment of contact. On the serve, your foot cannot contact the line or go under the line.

SPIKING & BLOCKING: The receiving team is not allowed to block or spike a served ball. The team that has affected the block is allowed 3 more contacts. 

NET PLAY: Players may not touch the net while making a play on the ball. If the net touches a player off a ricochet, there is no fault. If 2 opposing players touch the net simultaneously, the ball is replayed. You may go under the net as long as there is no interference with the opposing players.

LEGAL PLAY: It’s legal to contact the ball with any part of the body as long as the ball rebounds immediately. If 2 teammates contact the ball simultaneously, it counts as 1 contact, and any player may play the ball. 

ILLEGAL PLAY: Players are not permitted to lift, carry, or throw the ball in any division. The ball may not be contacted with an open underhanded motion. Judgment calls are at the discretion of the referee – NO REBUTTALS. 

ROSTER: Rosters should not fluctuate throughout the session; however, substitutes may be used in order to field players. Subs not listed on the original roster are required to sign the team roster (located in the court binder) before playing. During the tournament, you may only play on one (1) team per league.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Teams may make player substitutions at any dead ball but should not delay the game. There is no minimum or maximum number of substitutions. 

BUCKET POINTS / POPCORN POINTS (BP/PP): 1 pt awarded every game (3 pts awarded every match); Team that wins best 2/3 pts each match will be awarded one domestic bucket (6 cans) at the Concession Stand with a valid ID (High School leagues and anyone under the age of 21 will play for Popcorn Points) *ONLY VALID THAT NIGHT*. Craft upgrades are $1/beer. Teams with the most BPs/PPs at end of league play will get two buckets on tournament night. If the winners can’t make the tournament, the team with the next highest points will be awarded. 

CONDUCT: Nobody should act in an unsporting manner while on or near the court. Unsporting conduct is penalized as follows: 1) Verbal warning from a referee 2) Final warning 3) Ejection. Any player ejected will be required to leave the premises. Any player who accumulates 2 ejections throughout the season will be immediately suspended from the league. NO CUSSING. NO FIGHTING. NO VERBAL ABUSE or TAUNTING. THIS IS A FAMILY FACILITY. 

FORFEITS: Teams are strongly encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early for their games. A forfeit will be declared if a team does not field the required number of eligible players by the designated game time. Forfeiture may also result in the team being dropped from the tournament; teams that are removed due to forfeits are not eligible to receive refunds. 

NO TOBACCO: Tobacco products are prohibitted on the premises; this includes but is not limited to cigarettes, cigars, dip, chew, vapes, etc.

ALCOHOL/FOOD: No outside food or alcohol is allowed. It may be purchased at the concession stand. 

ATTIRE: Bathing suits are allowed as long as they are family appropriate. Bringing sandals is recommended.
